Key Club kicks off clothing drive

BY MORGAN GEYER

Staff Writer

The Key Club is hosting a clothing drive that begins today and ends on Friday.

Club sponsor Caroline Babik asks that students focus on donating coats, shoes, pants, hats, gloves, or even old baby clothes. She asks that students refrain from donating old T-shirts.

The clothes will be donated to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church located in Hazelwood. The church hosts a “clothing store” once a month for those in need. The clothes are free to those who need them. The Key Club is also thinking about donating half of the clothes to the people affected by a multi-building fire in Homestead.

They are hoping to collect 2,015 articles of clothing in honor of the Key Club’s three senior members who are graduating this year.

“People have a lot of clothing waste, while others can’t even update their clothing to sizes that fit,” Babik said. “It’s an easy way to help others who are in need.”
