This week, four teams will face off in NFL conference championships. The Buffalo Bills are set to play the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Washington Commanders will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles.
For the AFC, this matchup is what fans mostly expected, especially because they are the number one and two seeds in the conference.
Games between Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes have brought much excitement over the years, especially their legendary playoff performances in the divisional round in 2022.
The Bills, without having many known names, have a high-powered offense that is capable of scoring many points in every game, as shown during the regular season. The Bills defense is also exceptional, and it is one of the reasons why they beat the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round.
On the other hand, the Chiefs are known for having their way with other teams’ defenses, but that has not been the case this year.
The Chiefs have won an NFL record 11 one-possession games this year. Most of the time, the game was in the hands of the defense, and they stepped up every time.
The two head coaches, Andy Reid and Sean McDermott, have more playoff experience than any other coach in the past few years of the league, so this game will definitely be one for the ages again.
On the other hand, the NFC brings a team who no one thought would be in the conference championship: the Washington Commanders. They are led by rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, who has shown he is the real deal all year long, with crazy and even some game-winning plays.
The Commanders offense showed in the divisional round what they are capable of doing on offense, scoring 45 points in the game. But on the other side of the ball is where the Commanders are going to struggle.
The Philadelphia Eagles have one of if not the most balanced team in the NFL. With an offense led by Saquan Barkley and a defense led by a strong secondary and defensive line, this team could definitely go all the way this year.
Overall, expect both games to be exciting and high scoring. But the Bills and the Eagles will pull out the wins to go to the Super Bowl this year.
