Starting Monday, students who eat in the south cafeteria will be able to avoid those long lines by buying a lunch at the new Grab and Go lunch cart.
Based on the idea of the Grab and Go breakfast cart, the lunch cart will be located in the south cafeteria and will offer some of the same variety of choices that are served in a regular lunch line.
“We are hoping to increase meal participation in Baldwin and eliminate long lines,” food service Assistant Director Judy Bourne said.
Some of the foods that will be featured in the cart will be boneless chicken drumsticks, Italian hoagies, buffalo chicken wraps, hot and spicy chicken sandwiches, and “Uncrustable” peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, Bourne said.
To speed the process at the Grab and Go cart, no cash sales will be made. Students will punch in their lunch account number.
