The Baldwin boys tennis team lost 4-1 against Allderdice on Monday.
“Alderdice had good serves and the ability to play aggressively,” sophomore Carter Smeal said.
Smeal said the Highlanders played consistently and kept close games. Sophomore Nikita Petruk stood out for the team.
“Nikita’s first set was 6-6, and they went to a tie break,” Smeal said. “Even though he ultimately lost the match, he played his opponent close the whole time.”
Despite the loss, the team is improving and keeping their heads high for the end of the season.
“We have been improving a lot over the course of the season,” Smeal said. “We hope to close out the season with some match wins.”
The team has WPIAL sections today and tomorrow for doubles and plays against Shaler on Wednesday.
