Moms are matchmakers in Hallmark’s ‘Scottish Love Scheme’

Recently released Hallmark movie, ‘A Scottish Love Scheme,’ features actress Erica Durance. Courtesy of BRB Pictures, White Stag Films.

One of Hallmark’s newest movies interestingly uses the concept of mothers as matchmakers for their children.

A Scottish Love Scheme is about Lily, a girl who travels to Scotland and sees her childhood family friend, Logan. But Lily and Logan have no idea that their mothers are trying to set them up with each other.

Erica Durance, who plays Lily, has been in multiple Hallmark movies as well as TV shows.

This movie is cute, with one reason being how different it is from most of the other Hallmark movies from the past. Most Hallmark movies follow the same formula: Big city girl goes home for work, meets a handsome man, and they end up in love.

This is different. It is about how two people who are just friends end up falling for each other with the help of their mothers, which is an interesting concept.

Another reason this movie is interesting is because it doesn’t take place in America. Most Hallmark movies happen somewhere in Maine or Vermont, but this movie takes place across the ocean, in Scotland.

One of the only downsides is that same gender marriages and mixed marriages aren’t really represented throughout the movie.
