Baldwin’s softball team wrapped up its season by continuing its recent hot streak, defeating Keystone Oaks, 9-6, on Thursday.

Sophomore Kaylee Smolko said junior pitcher Anna Schumacher “battled well throughout the six innings” and her sister, senior Grace Schumacher, pitched her final inning as a senior.

Junior Lacey Bonetti praised freshman Mackenzie Bowen, who courtesy runs for their catcher, junior Keira Platz, for scoring first.

“Freshman Avery Harrington and sophomore Gabby Jaquay had amazing plays in the field and great bats,” Bonetti said.

“Overall the team hit really well, and everyone contributed to the win,” Smolko said.

The girls are proud they were able to pull out some wins as the season drew to a close.

“We really struggled in the beginning of the season and lost some hope, but we really pulled it together and came back at the end,” Bonetti said.

The girls ended their season by winning three out of their last four games, including their senior recognition game against Mt. Lebo.
