The Baldwin Outdoor Track and Field team competes in the spring season.

The Baldwin track teams competed and the boys placed fourth out of 41 teams at the South Fayette Invitational on Saturday.

The boys and girls teams were missing almost half of their runners, so a top five finish for the boys is quite the accomplishment for the runners. Seniors Andrew Barrett and Phillip Pegher thought that the team all did their part to place as they did.

“We have been working hard all season and it really shows,” Barrett said.

“A lot of people stepped up for us to place where we did,” Pegher said.

Pegher thought two throwers who did really well were junior Brooklyn Lucas and senior Brady Hartman.

Barrett thought the South Fayette meet would provide a good push in preparation for the weeks ahead.

“It was a good progressive meet leading into a very important week for us,” Barrett said.

Next week is the Baldwin Invitational, which is held at Baldwin High School and is one of the biggest meets of the year. So earning a good placement just a short time before the big meet helps a lot.

The Baldwin Invitational is on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Baldwin.
