The boys volleyball earned a 3-0 shutout over Peters Township on Tuesday.

“We did really well on attacking and sending the ball to the right hitters at the right times,” senior outside hitter Justin Shaneman said.

His brother, junior middle hitter Ryan Shaneman, agreed that the team had a great night.

“The team did everything pretty well. The passes made it so we had three options pretty much the entire time. The sets were easily hittable. The hits were strong and in smart spots,” he said.

The brothers said that one standout player in the game was junior setter Logan Pack.

“Logan was pushing out the sets to Justin and was able to run a pretty difficult play called a tandem,” Ryan Shaneman said.

Justin Shaneman said that Pack had the second-most kills and set well the whole game.

Other than keeping the ball in play after a rough first pass, Peters did not do much that challenged the Highlanders, he said.

The boys plan to keep improving upon skills, especially the consistency of their serves.

The team’s section record is currently 1-4, and their next match is at Seneca Valley on Monday.
