Korean-American musician Yaeji introduces soft, melodic, and unique sounds with the newly released With a Hammer album.

She keeps constant the mellow and soft beats throughout her album. Yaeji’s music differs from many mainstream artists, so her tunes are a refreshing change from the pop or hip-hop scene.

In each song, she incorporates both Korean and English lyrics. This trait, along with her ability to make different-sounding music, establishes her as a talented and underrated musician.

In “Submerge FM,” she incorporates subtle flute sounds paired with a wondrous harmony of instrumentals and vocals. However, in “Fever and Michin,” she diverts from her nobly soft sounds and incorporates a faster beat and rap-like flow.

She brings house music to a whole new level, adding a distinctive and interesting twist to it.

With a Hammer is Yaeji’s first album in the last three years. It introduces house music in a new and enjoyable fashion, making it worth a listen.
