The Baldwin boys lacrosse team plays in the 3A division.

The boys lacrosse team fell to Upper Saint Clair 23-1 on Tuesday.

The loss is another tough defeat for the team, who have been having a rough season so far.

Sophomore Garrett Pogany said Upper St. Clair was really skilled.

“They were just really strong offensively. In the end, we couldn’t keep up,” Pogany said.

Pogany also acknowledged that the team has work to do if they want to turn the season around.

“I think we need to improve a little bit in every aspect, especially our defense,” Pogany said.

Sophomore Trevor Brain thought that despite the score, there were some positives.

“Even though we didn’t score that much, we caused a lot of turnovers, which led to offensive chances,” Brain said.

Brain also said that freshman Evan Szpara stood out in the game.

“Even when we were down in the score, he still was playing as hard as he could and caused a lot of turnovers,” Brain said.

The loss brings the team’s record to 0-6. Their next game is on Thursday against Peters Township.
