Running out of TV shows and movies to stream? The Purbalite is here to help, with another installment of our What to Binge Watch feature.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is an animated series that focuses on different types of relationships and has excellent LGBT representation.

The show, which started in 2018, is based on She-Ra: Princess of Power, which ran from 1985 to 1987. While many characters are the same, there are new ones, and some even have different personalities and roles in the show.

The show is about Adora, an orphan taken in and raised to be a soldier in the Horde. She finds a magical sword that transforms her into the Princess of Power, She-Ra. Along the way, she meets Bow and Princess Glimmer, members of the Resistance.

When Adora finds out that the Horde is evil, she decides to join the Resistance and rebuild the Princess Alliance, leaving behind her childhood friend, Catra.

Instead of being focused on romance, the show builds up platonic relationships. The viewer sees Adora experience life and build healthy relationships.

The show also features LGBT representation. Two characters from the original show, Spinnerella and Netossa, are married, and the show does not try to hide it. The show also features Bow’s dads, Lance and George, as well as a nonbinary character, Double Trouble, who uses they/them pronouns.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is the perfect show to binge and get lost in the world of Etheria.
