The boys varsity volleyball team defeated Mt. Lebanon 3-1 in its first home match on Thursday.

The Highlanders said they are satisfied with their first win of the season.

“We went into the game with no confidence, but we were very desperate to win,” senior Bibeak Bhujel said. “We built up to the nice hits.”

Blaine Rigby, a sophomore, wants the team to stay consistent in their future matches.

“If we can keep up the energy and use it for our upcoming games, then we can continue to win,” he said.

Rigby also said the team wants to continue to work on communication.

“We could have better communication and energy on the court,” Ridby said.

Bhujel agreed.

“I think we do need to work on communicating, but also show up to games with more confidence,” he said.

The Highlanders’ next match is on Monday against Thomas Jefferson.
