Five Baldwin wrestlers over the weekend advanced to WPIAL individual finals.
Varsity wrestlers Keith Mincin, Owen Klodowski, Ramil Islamov, Lachin Islamov, and John Starusko will be advancing to the WPIAL finals.
Mincin complimented Klodowski’s performance.
“Owen just stood out against everybody else,” Mincin said.
Overall the team expected better, but are proud of what they accomplished individually, Mincin said.
“We could have done a lot better, but we definitely didn’t do bad,” Mincin said.
The WPIAL individual finals are this Friday and Saturday, where the five players from the varsity team will compete against the best wrestlers of various other schools from the western Pennsylvania area.
If the players do well in the WPIAL finals, they could move on to states.
