Baldwin boys basketball lost 85-79 to Peters Township Monday night.

Senior Christian Forgacs said Baldwin struggled to keep up.

“Peters is a very fast-paced team and they like to run and score,” Forgacs said. “Adjusting to that was a change.”

Senior James Wesling notices areas the team can improve on.

“We definitely need to do a better job of rebounding and communicating on screens,” Wesling said.

Although the team fell short on points, individual players stuck out to Forgacs throughout the game. Wesling brought guidance to the team, he said.

“He ended with 42 points and had great leadership throughout,” Forgacs said. “He has been turning into a great leader for this team.”

Forgacs is able to see how well the team sticks together even through a tough loss.

“Despite being down at the end, I loved how we never stopped going and kept playing hard,” Forgacs said.

Wesling also found positive aspects in the loss as the team moves forward to playoffs.

“We did a good job of never giving up and continuing to try to fight back,” Wesling said. “Hopefully it gives us more motivation in the playoffs to come out stronger and faster and more focused.”

The team is preparing for their playoff game Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. against Central Catholic at Gateway High School.
