The girls and boys swims teams won their senior recognition meet against West Mifflin on Tuesday.

Senior Ava Ipolito reflected on her season so far.

“I am very happy with the season and all the friends I have made through swimming. Senior rec was very good, and was one to remember,” Ipolito said, “I look forward to swimming competitively one last time in my high school career.”

Junior Evan Stokes says it’s sad to see the seniors nearing the end of their high school swimming careers, since he has been swimming with them for so long.

“I’m sad to see them go because I’ve known a few of them for almost a decade, but I’m glad they all get to move on and do what they love,” he said.

Stokes also said the seniors “got to swim their favorite events and a lot of them swam best times.”

Ipolito congratulated junior Daniella Rigby because she “is always so supportive and cheers for her teammates the entire game.”

With only one meet left in the season, the team is looking towards WPIALs and working hard to qualify in relays and individual events.

“The boys are really close to qualifying for the relays, so we’re going to try our hardest to make it as a team this year,” Stokes said.

The team’s last meet is on Thursday at Baldwin against Fox Chapel.
