The Baldwin boys wrestling team fell to Upper St. Clair 38-28 on Wednesday.

Even though they lost, Junior Keith Mincin said that the team never gave up.

“It came down to the very last match,” Mincin said.

One of the best moments of the tournament was when junior Riley Kavalo got his pin, Mincin said. Mincin also said that junior Owen Klodowski and sophomore Ramil Islamov performed strongly at the match.

“They both had very dominant matches,” Mincin said.

Mincin knows the team has performed better, but felt they put forth their best efforts during the matches.

“We tried our best, but we could have practiced even harder,” Mincin said.

Though Baldwin had team spirit, Upper Saint Clair fought hard.

“The other team definitely came out more aggressive than us,” sophomore Garrett Gusten said.

Gusten is looking forward to the remainder of the season.

“I am excited to see how far the team will go,” he said.

The team’s next tournament is Friday and Saturday against multiple opponents.
