The Baldwin gymnastics team placed second in a meet on Saturday, up against multiple schools from the area.

Sophomore Annabelle Herrle, who made it to Baldwin’s top five, praised the team for their performance.

“We did really well in our floor exercise,” Herrle said.

Herrle specifically complimented sophomore Abbilyn Rexrode for placing in the top five and putting a lot of effort into the team.

“Abby was injured not that long ago, but for herself and the team she returned and did a great job. She’s one of our best players and her comeback is really impressive,” Herrle said.

Although the team did well, Herrle still sees room for improvement.

“We need to improve our bar exercises,” Herrle said.

Although the meet does not go to their record, so far the gymnastics team is undefeated, going 3-0 in the season.

“I wasn’t surprised at our placing, the team is very skilled,” Herrle said.

The gymnastics team has a meet against Thomas Jefferson and Burrell on Friday.
