The boys swim team defeated Trinity away on Tuesday, while the girls team lost by just one point.

The boys team won 77-58.

“I know the boys were definitely proud of how we’ve done, especially because we don’t have the numbers to win every single week,” junior swimmer Evan Stokes said.

The girls team lost 83-82, a close contest that Stokes said could inspire the girls in future meets.

There were a lot of strong points throughout the entire meet, Stokes said. He specifically thrived in the 100 meter freestyle.

“I thought my 100 fly was really good. I felt consistent in my kicking and used all my power,” Stokes said.

With strengths also comes some room for improvement.

“I think speed wise, we are staying at a good constant,” Stokes said. “We just need to trust each other more. We don’t really trust each other to get off the blocks in time.”

The next swim meet for both teams will be Jan. 5 at Shaler.
