The boys hockey team lost its home opener on Thursday 5-1 to Cathedral Prep.

After the Highlanders went down 3-0, senior Levi McCrea scored for Baldwin.

“I scored on a redirect in front of the net,” he said.

But the team wasn’t able to get anything else going. McCrea thought the team was not at its best.

“We didn’t do much of anything well,” he said. “We won’t be able to win games if we play like we did.”

McCrea thought Baldwin couldn’t keep up with the physicality that Cathedral Prep brought.

“We were playing scared,” he said.  “We didn’t want to play physical with them.”

But McCrea thinks the team will bounce back and work together as a team.

“Hopefully we leave it in the past and move on to the next game,” he said.

The Highlanders play Canon-MacMillan at Southpointe at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
