Despite the sentiment that sequels never live up to expectations, the comedy Hocus Pocus 2 puts up a good fight against the original film.

Hocus Pocus 2 is directed at both present-day children as well as the generation that was young when the original came out.

The original and beloved actresses Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy are back to play the three Sanderson sisters. The main characters, Becca, Izzy, and Cassie, are played by Whitney Peak, Belissa Escobedo, and Lilia Buckingham.

Becca and Izzy bring back the Sanderson sisters, who must now deal with the challenges of modern-day technology. The three teens must work together to stop the Sanderson sisters from causing mayhem in current-day Salem.

Hocus Pocus 2 provides a refreshing modern twist on the classic movie with a more diverse cast and plot elements. The movie also contains many meaningful moments.

Though many aspects of the plot are the same as the original movie, the modern aspects create a new environment. The movie is chaotic and the humor is definitely targeted toward younger children.

Overall, Hocus Pocus 2 is a well written and nostalgic movie.
