Most TV series on streaming platforms eventually begin to dwindle in popularity and lose the quality the show began with. With Season 5, Cobra Kai has gone against this trend and has maintained the entertainment value it has been presenting since Season 1.

After the cliffhanger fans were left with at the end of Season 4, the fifth season was highly anticipated. According to Variety.com, 95 million hours have been viewed of the new season.

This number continues to increase and is not far from the 120 million hours viewed for Season 4.

Cobra Kai is known for incorporating past characters from the original Karate Kid movies. In Season 5, more past characters have been brought into the intense karate matches, including flashbacks via clips of the past movies. This gives viewers familiar with the classic movies a feel-good touch and also makes the show more fascinating.

The development of the dojos is brought up quickly within this new season and the fight between Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do continues. But more family aspects and personal development also are added with major characters for the first half of the season.

Because of that addition, many viewers missed the quick fighting that usually appears within the first episode of a Cobra Kai season. Some would view this as a downside, while others would view this as a positive incorporation.

Cobra Kai creators are incorporating cheesy, comedic, and serious scenes to create seasons that viewers can’t help but watch. This new season does not show any sign of slowing down or giving up the quality the audience is waiting for.
