Boys volleyball falls to Moon Township

The boys volleyball team lost to Moon Township, a strong competitor this year, 3-0, on Thursday.

“Usually they are not tough opponents, but they have a really good team this year,” junior middle blocker Justin Shaneman said.

Although the Highlanders suffered a loss, Shaneman and sophomore libero Annan Gurung said the team’s morale was high.

“Last night, the team had a lot of energy and fun,” Gurung said.

With recent injuries within the team, new players are constantly being added in, which causes confusion on the court.

“We just need to work on perfecting our positions and adjusting to the new lineup,” Shaneman said.

Senior Niraj Thapa got around half of the team’s kills, and Gurung said he had improved on his passes.

Currently, the team has won two games overall, including a non-conference game against Keystone Oaks. Shaneman said there is a low chance of making the playoffs.

Their next game is next Tuesday, and the team will be facing off against Canon Mac.
