The girls lacrosse team lost to Upper Saint Clair 16-0 on Tuesday night.

The Highlanders were left scoreless, but the players still pushed forward during the game, juniors Cadence Morton and Taylor Bommer noted.

“Haley Holmes and Addison Giglione did well. Haley was good at attacking and was quick to grab ground balls, and Addison blocked several hard shots,” Bommer said.

Additionally, players took initiative and talked to each other through plays.

“Aliza Very and Sara Scheeser had good communication and marked players well,” Morton said.

USC had a plethora of plays they had clearly practiced in advance, which led to their dominance.

“Upper Saint Clair had many attacking plays and knew how to move the ball around, pass, and cut up field,” Bommer said.

The Baldwin offense was unable to make good passes and retain possession during some plays.

“I say that once the offense got the ball, we would rush and not see who was open. We also struggled to get ground balls and often let the other team get them before us,” Bommer said.

Still, the team stayed motivated throughout the game and refused to let the deficit keep them down.

“In the past few games we had no steam and were hard on ourselves after a few goals by the opposing team. But we played through this game and seemed to still have fun, playing our hearts out,” Bommer said
