The boys tennis team lost 3-2 on Wednesday to Central Catholic

Junior Nate Philips said freshman Leyton Yokopenic, who lost his first set, but won the second and then won a tiebreaker for the win, stood out for the Highlanders.

“Leyton was probably the shining star of the show,” Phillips said.

Philips said his own performance wasn’t what it could have been.

“My backhand wasn’t consistent at all. I was getting a little flustered.” Philips said.

Philips also wants to work on other elements of his game.

“I want to try and work on being consistent. I was lagging a bit and I need to work on my serve as well,” Phillips said.

Junior Braden Yokopenic, who was fighting an injury, put in a strong effort, but lost.

“Braden is suffering from an injury right now but he still played and he put up a good fight,” Philips said.
