The girls softball team lost its first section game to Peters Township on Monday, 7-5.

Sophomores Anna Schumacher and Keira Platz said the Highlanders hit really well, but they struggled with defense and running the bases. Peters Township also played a strong game.

“Peters had very timely hits,” Platz said.

Last year, Peters was not as good, they said.

“They’re usually terrible. We crushed them last year,” Schumacher said.

Baldwin has played a total of five games this season with a current overall record of 2-3 and an 0-1 section record.

“We did not do great yesterday, but we will continue to improve throughout the season since we still have a lot of time,” Schumacher said.

The team will be playing against Canon Mac on Wednesday.

“Canon Mac is good at hitting, so we need to work on our defense,” Schumacher said.
