Chicago rapper Lil Durk’s latest album, 7220, is a satisfactory listen, but it does not meet expectations for the artist.

7220 is Lil Durk’s seventh studio album. After the release of his popular collaborative album with Lil Baby called The Voice of Heroes in 2021, there were some high expectations for this project.

The project includes 17 songs with strong features from Gunna, Future, Summer Walker, and Morgan Wallen.

“AHHH HA” is one of the most popular songs off the album. In the drill hit, he calls out many of his enemies.

Other parts of 7220, though, bring some diversity in the album by drifting away from Durk’s usual drill type music.

“What Happened to Virgil,” featuring Gunna, is one of the best songs off 7220. It speaks of his experiences losing loved ones such as designer Virgil Abloh, rapper King Von, and his brother Dontay Banks.

Durk’s most popular song, “Broadway Girls,” with an unexpected feature from country star Wallen, brings the most diversity to the album. The country and drill crossover song was first released as a single in December as a gift to Lil Durk’s fans, yet it remains a fan favorite.

Despite many good songs, there are some songs that bring down the album. “Barbarian” and “Grow Up/Keep It On Speaker” are two of the worst songs on the album due to their generic and boring beats, lyrics, and flow.

Overall, 7220 is an adequate album, and it would be a good listen for fans of artists like King Von, Lil Baby, and Polo G.
