Baldwin’s two competitive unified bocce teams took home bronze and fourth place at playoffs Monday at Shaler High School.

There were five teams in the playoffs: Baldwin teams 1 and 2, Pine-Richland, Shaler, and Franklin Regional.

Baldwin 1 lost its matches against Pine-Richland and Franklin Regional, placing fourth overall. Baldwin 2 lost to Pine Richland and won against Shaler, earning the bronze medal.

Senior Olivia Penrod, a player for Team 1, said the team played well despite the losses.

“Overall it was a really good match,” Penrod said.

Penrod said her teammates Edi Durakvoic and Dominic Meloni were standouts.

“Edi has been doing really well during our matches. Dom had some really good throws as well,” Penrod said.

With the season coming to an end, Penrod is happy for the Baldwin bocce teams.

“I’m super proud of all my teammates and the hard work and dedication we put into this season. It was the best way to end my senior year of bocce,” Penrod said.
