The Baldwin indoor track 4×400 relay team finished fifth overall at the indoor track championships over the weekend.

The team consists of Nathaniel Okwu, Dominick Ditoro, Jonus Ruvolo, and Bijimungu Moise.

The Highlanders went in as underdogs and unexpectedly rose up to fifth, sophomore Bijimungu Moise said.

“We were supposed to be the worst, but we made it to the top five. Being first would be better and we will try harder next year,” Moise said.

The team is excited for the spring track season and is confident they will exceed their expectations.

“Our team is a good contender and I think we have all the components. We just have to keep it up. I am very optimistic about another section championship,” senior Nathaniel Okwu said.

With the indoor track season greatly reduced last year because of Covid, Okwu was content about the way this season went.

“This season was full of many fulfilling memories and everyone was determined to help each other get better. We had a lot of fun and put everything we could on the line,” Okwu said.
