Baldwins boys basketball team beat Mount Lebanon for the first time in years on Tuesday, picking up a 54-50 victory on senior night.

Senior Chad Cochran said it was the greatest feeling in the world.

“It’s the first time we’ve beaten Lebo since I’ve been playing, so the energy was through the roof,” Cochran said.

Senior Jordan Brophy agreed.

“It was an amazing feeling for sure,” Brophy said.

The boys played Lebo earlier in the season and lost, 60-46.

Cochran said the team played well all around, improving on things they lacked the first time they played Lebo.

“We played really well on defense and we remained disciplined and patient on our offensive plays,” Cochran said.

Cochran said sophomore Nate Richards stood out in the game.

“He handled the ball really well and stayed calm throughout the whole game,” Cochran said.

Brophy said the Wesling brothers, James and Nate, also played exceptionally well, rarely missing any shots.

The team plays again on Saturday against Canon Mac, where they hope to improve on their consistency.

“We still need to work on playing hard till the end and finishing each quarter strong,” Cochran said.

The team’s section record is now 4-3.
