The Baldwin boys basketball team won 66-49 against Peters Township on Friday.

The teams were evenly matched in the first two quarters, but after that Baldwin mostly had the lead.

Junior James Wesling was proud of his team for playing solid throughout the whole game.

“We played hard all four quarters of the game, which has not been a common thing for us so far,” Wesling said.

The team did a standout job on defense and rebounding, Wesling said. These aspects of the game helped them stay in the lead.

Junior Joey Carr had a standout game for Baldwin, Wesling said.

Freshman Nate Wesling, a shooting guard, talked about how they worked together to stop Peters Township’s offense.

“We did a great job shutting down our opponents’ best players and plays,” Nate Wesling said.

The crowd played a big role in getting the players to try harder and lifted their spirits throughout the game, he said.

The team’s next game is at 7:30 p.m. today away at Bethel Park.
