The Baldwin wrestling team maintained its perfect record on Senior Rec Night with a win over the Albert Gallatin Colonials on Wednesday.

Winning their matches with a pin were sophomore Keith Mincin, junior Dillon DiGiannurio, freshman Ramil Islamov, sophomore Owen Klodowski, and sophomore Mario DelRosario. Sophomore Riley Kavalo also won his match.

Baldwin’s record is 2-0. DiGiannurio said the team is excited about the strong start to the season.

“It feels great. Everyone’s very hyped up about it,”  DiGiannurio said.

Klodowski has been a key member of the team, DiGiannurio said.

“The most positive player we have is Owen Klodowski. He usually gets hyped up for the matches, and he brings everyone up,” DiGiannurio said.

DiGiannurio moved up a weight class for his match and came away with a win.

“The finishing for me was a big deal because he was winning for most of the round. I came back at the end and beat him,” DiGiannurio said.

The team hopes the early wins will set the tone for the season.

“The energy our team has now has been the key. Hopefully we keep this energy up in the upcoming matches so we can make it to the WPIALs this year,” DiGiannurio said.
