The Baldwin marching band placed third in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Marching Band Association championships over the weekend.

The band performed its show “Mechanized” and earned a score of 84, which earned Baldwin third place out of the eight schools in Division AA. This was the band’s highest score of the year.

Sophomore baritone player Samantha Poznick is excited about the win.

“I’m happy we placed in the top three at the end of the season,” she said.

Poznick said the competition went well and that the band members all tried their best, especially because it was championships.

“I know I tried my best at this one since it was the championship and our last performance of the season,” she said.

As the season went on, the band got better and kept improving its score. The long days they spent practicing all paid off in the end, she said.

“I’m so happy to end the season with the new friends that I have made and knowing how hard we have worked to get where we are,” Poznick said.
