Girls volleyball picks up big win during senior rec

The girls volleyball team earned a senior night win over Peters Township on Tuesday night, 3-0.

Senior Alayna Meis said the team played together well, and it was the best game they have played in this tough season.

“I think as a team we did everything well… We blocked a lot of balls, and we got a lot of balls up that we don’t usually,” Meis said

Senior Heidi Johnston agreed.

“It felt really good to win,” Johnston said. “Peters made the playoffs and we didn’t, so that just shows how good of a team we are.”

Johnston also said the team played more as one.

“We played more as a team and really worked hard for our win,” she said.

This was the last home game for the Highlanders.

“It was a great way to end our seniors’ last home game and senior night. It couldn’t have gone any better. It will be remembered as a great win for all of the seniors,” Meis said.

Junior Morgan O’Brien agreed.

“I know this game was a celebration for all of their years they have played volleyball,” O’Brien said.

The girls’ next game is at Bethel on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

“This game will definitely be motivation to beat Bethel and end our season off on a high note,” O’Brien said.
