Border control agents on horseback have been caught on video chasing and threatening Haitian migrants. There is no way this could be considered reasonable or necessary in any circumstances.

Instead, this way of preventing people from getting through the border is inexcusable and inhumane.

White border control agents aggressively waving horse reins at a black person strongly resembles a slave master punishing a slave. This situation is not a great look for Joe Biden’s administration or America as a whole.

Yes, people trying to get through the border illegally is not right or lawful. However, there are many ways to escort those trying to get in illegally in a respectable and humanly decent way.

There is no just explanation for treating any immigrant, even those not entering legally, in such an animalistic manner. Immigrants are not less than a border control officer.

A USA Today story quoted Biden as saying, “It’s outrageous. I promise you those people will pay. They will be investigated. There will be consequences”.

This is quite unusual when you think about it. Shouldn’t the president of the United States know what is going on at the border, or who he is employing to work there? It is very strange how Biden, a Democrat president, is handling this immigration issue.

Of course Biden cannot control what happens everywhere. But since immigration is such a huge topic, especially in the United States, the border should be looked carefully upon.

It is possible that this could merely be the fault of the individual border control officers. However, the government does deserve a portion of the blame and should take accountability as well.
