Senior golfer Dom Trimbur on Monday qualified for WPIAL individual finals.

Trimbur competed Monday in the semifinals at Willowbrook Country Club. He shot a 76, landing him sixth place and earning a spot in the finals next Tuesday.

Trimbur said he is excited to make his first trip to the finals, even though it is a pressure-filled event.

“It’s a pretty good feeling,” he said. “It’s a lot of fun to go out there and play and compete.”

Trimbur said that the semifinal competition was difficult.

“It definitely was challenging,” he said. “I had trouble with the second hole.”

Despite the challenging course, Trimbur came close to getting a hole in one.

Trimbur said he plans no adjustments in his game for the finals, which will be held at Nemacolin Country Club.
