New installment of MLB the Show keeps this video game strong

Sony San Diego Studios has come out with another strong installment of its most popular franchise: MLB The Show 21.

The sports game community has quickly seen The Show rise in popularity over the last few years, and it is beginning to take its place as a large-scale sports franchise.

The diamond dynasty mode is once again the main attraction for players, and Sony San Diego Studios opted for the motto “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” There are a lot of similarities to previous installments, except the menu, which is substantially better and quicker to navigate. However, diamond dynasty is a great mode, and it did not require any tinkering, so SDS gets a pass.

Road to the show gives some players new incentives to play its classic game mode. The created player in diamond dynasty is now progressed by playing road to the show, which is a good addition.

The largest addition to the game, however, is the new pinpoint pitching format. This is a great and much-needed new feature for the game, as there is now a new pitching option that all players should use to maximize their performance.

The game was released a month later than usual, so only time will tell if the content will continue to be put out, but SDS does a great job with content so there should be no worries.

MLB the Show 21 proves once again why it is part of the greatest sports video game franchise currently in the world.
