Follow a close mother-daughter relationship through the ups and downs of growing up.

That’s what happens when viewers binge watch Gilmore Girls, which first aired on The WB and ended with its last season on The CW. All seven seasons are now on Netflix.

The Gilmore girls are Lorelai Gilmore, played by Lauren Graham, and Rory Gimore, played by Alexis Bledel. Rory is Lorelai’s daughter and was born when Lorelai was only 16. Lorelai’s parents were disappointed, causing Lorelai and Rory to move 30 minutes away to a small fictional town in Connecticut, Stars Hollow.

Because of their small age gap, Lorelai and Rory are best friends. They tell each other everything. Gilmore Girls shows Rory as she grows from the beginning of high school to the end of college. Her mom helps her go through love, heartbreak, friends, drama, and school.

There are many supporting characters in the show who bring needed friendships and humor. Comedian and actress Melissa McCarthy plays Lorelai’s best friend, Sookie St. James, a quirky and fun character. The show also would not be the same without other key characters like Luke Danes, Kirk, and Paris Geller.

To fulfil viewers’ desires for more content, Loralei and Rory reconnect in Netflix’s limited series, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

The show answers questions that left viewers of Gilmore Girls wanting more. It explains what happened to Rory’s career and previous relationship and Loralei’s simple life in Stars Hollow within four 90-minute episodes.
