The highly anticipated Meghan Markle and Prince Harry interview with Oprah aired Sunday night and answered the questions many had as to why the couple stepped back from their royal duties.

The interview gave Markle and Harry the chance to tell their side of the story.

One rumor that was brought up was that Markle and Harry supposedly would not allow their son, Archie, to have the title of prince. Many believed this when the story first came out because Markle and Harry do not seem as the type to care so much about royal titles and the luxuries that come with it.

Markle and Harry said this was not true. Markle said she was told that the rules prevented it, since Prince Charles had not ascended to the throne yet. And Markle suggested that an unnamed palace official raised concerns about the color of her son’s skin.

Markle and Harry also announced the gender of their second child: They are expecting a girl.

Harry also said that a huge reason he left his royal duties is that he worried that his wife would meet the same fate as his mother, Princess Diana.

This is a valid reason, because Markle is a huge target in the media, and this was even more true when she lived in London and was a senior member of the royal family. Diana was also a huge target in the media.

Markle has dealt with racist and nasty remarks in the media since her relationship with Harry became known in 2016. That has not stopped even after the couple moved to Los Angeles.

There were tweets about Markle being a snake and forcing Harry to leave his family, even though Harry has most likely been looking for a way to distance himself for a long time.

Harry said he now sees how trapped he was, and he feels sorry for his brother, William, because William does not see how trapped he is.

Harry said his grandmother, the queen, understood his reasons, but she did not want them to leave. His father, Charles, did not take his calls for some time and was angered by his leaving.

Although the monarchy has been in place for centuries, a change needs to be made when it comes to accepting diversity into the family, and its way of handling the media. In the end, the royal family needs to become more modernized.

If changes are not made, Markle and Harry may not be the last royals to step away.
