The girls basketball season came to an end Saturday with a 59-39 playoff loss to North Allegheny.

The girls finished the season with an overall 9-8 record. They had entered Saturday’s second-round playoff game on a four-game winning streak, including a first-round playoff victory over Penn Trafford.

Senior Meghan Dryburgh said that although she is disappointed in the loss, there are still many good takeaways from the season.

“It felt amazing to win a playoff game this year, especially after everything we have been through as a team. It was nice to see all of our hard work finally pay off,” Dryburgh said.

Dryburgh said the team did a great job of overcoming adversity throughout the entire season.

“The season as a whole was very different, especially with COVID-19 and a brand new coaching staff. But I think we adapted very well to everything and played our hearts out every single game,” Dryburgh said.

Dryburgh said that the four-game winning streak at the end of the season could be attributed to good team cooperation.

“I think a lot of that was because of our strong upperclassmen and our ability to cooperate and work together as a team,” Dryburgh said.
