Senior Keith Reed and junior Trevor Belak each scored twice to lead the Baldwin ice hockey team to an 8-0 win over Moon Township on Monday night.

Goals also were scored by juniors Nelson Buys, Carson Kress, and Alex Aul, as well as senior Dylan Belak.

Junior Eddie Nowicki stopped all 20 shots that came his way to earn the shutout.

“Our offense was physical and didn’t let up,” Reed said. “Dylan Bleak had a goal and was making a play every shift.”

Trevor Belak, meanwhile, has really stepped up as a player and leader, Reed said.

“Trevor I would say so far is tied for the most goals on the team and has been the most impressive defenseman,” Reed said. “He is calm with the puck and has an absolute rocket of a shot.”

After the team got rolling and scoring on Monday night, it was hard to stop, he said.

“Once we were able to get up 3-0 eight minutes into the first, our momentum just continued to go up,” Reed said.

The team is off to a 4-0 start and will play its next game on Monday at 7 p.m. at Ice Castle.
