Teenagers are stereotyped as being fast drivers, and even if they aren’t, their parents always think they are. For example, teens driving on a family trip will be told to slow down by parents, even if they are going exactly the speed limit. Parents instinctively will reach for that handle that hangs from the ceiling of the car, as if the car is somehow out of control, no matter how well the teen is driving. Parents also warn teens about every other vehicle or pedestrian on the road, as if teens don’t have better vision than their parents.
