The varsity ice hockey team finished its regular season with a 1-0 victory over South Fayette on Monday.

Senior James Duyla scored the only goal of the game in the second period. The assists were from junior Robbie Aranos and sophomore Joey Antonio.

Senior Justin Pollard gave credit to Dulya.

“Duyla really played well last night. He made great decisions and he was our only offensive target,” Pollard said.

Sophomore Eddie Nowicki and senior Tanner Cindrich split the game in goal, jointly earning a shutout.

The Highlanders finished the regular season with a record of 17-1

Sophomore Dominic Trimbur said he is confident going into playoffs.

“It feels good knowing that we are going into playoffs 17-1. It shows how strong the team is,” he said.

Baldwin had been unbeaten for most of the season. Trimbur said the team’s lone loss did not affect their confidence at all.

“The loss we had really just brought our team together. I am still very confident going to playoffs and I think we all are,” he said.
