The boys basketball team lost a close game to Peters Township on Tuesday night, 65-56.

Junior Connor Lavelle said the team did not have enough energy at the start.

“We started slow and by the time we got going, it was too late,” Lavelle said.

Lavelle said the team’s defense could improve.

“We were bad at defending the perimeter and we gave up a lot of shots” Lavelle said.

Despite the loss, the Highlanders gained momentum slowly throughout the game and ended the game with strength.

“We started playing well after the start,” Lavelle said. “We finished strong.”

The boys have an 0-3 section record and a 5-6 record overall. The team’s next game is against Canon-Mac on Friday.
