Baldwin ice hockey player Dylan Belak has been named the PIHL player of the month for November.

Belak is a starting forward for Baldwin’s varsity ice hockey team. He has scored six goals and five assists in eight games, and in a testament to his discipline, he has no penalty minutes.

Belak said he was surprised to learn he had received the honor since many of his teammates have played well this season.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this award, because I think a lot of players on my team could have received it,” Belak said.

Belak has had to put in many hours of work not only on the ice, but off of it as well.

“I always want to get better, so I have to put in the work off the ice as well,” Belak said.

The team is off to an 8-0 start to the season. Their next regular season game is in January.
