In its section opener, the boys basketball team took down Connellsville, 74-58, at home on Friday.

The game did not start well for Baldwin, as Connellsville had the lead for most of the first quarter. But Baldwin came back and then ran away with the game in the fourth quarter.

Junior Joey Starzynski applauded Baldwin’s defense.

“The defense played well and forced a lot of turnovers and steals,” Starynski said.

Senior Andy Degenhardt and junior Dorien Ford scored double-digit points alongside Starzynski. Ford also dominated the boards, Starzynski said.

Starzynski also said the team has to improve in a couple of areas to prepare for Friday’s game against Mt. Lebanon.

“We need to improve on limiting turnovers and making better offensive plays,” Starzynski said.
