Senior tennis player Beth Yauch finished in third place at the PIAA Individual State Tennis Championships over the weekend.

Yauch played four matches in two days and lost to the eventual winner in the semifinals.

“I played really well. I gave everything I had and fought really hard and I just ended up playing really well,” Yauch said.

Yauch has been to the individual state championships three times in her high school career, only missing out sophomore year due to appendicitis. 

Yauch now will look to continue her tennis career at the collegiate level at Cleveland State University.

“I’m really looking forward to working hard for the next eight months, and then heading off to play at the collegiate level and enjoying the college life,” Yauch said.
