The boys soccer team will face Norwin in an away match on Saturday that will be the team’s first postseason appearance in a decade.

Baldwin played Norwin early in the regular season and lost, 5-1, with Norwin’s speedy wingers proving to be dominant. But coming off a big win over Bethel Park that got them into the playoffs, the Highlanders are now set to face Norwin again.

Senior Jay Mwete said the team was amazed they made the playoffs and that it feels even more special for the seniors. After the excitement of the Bethel win, though, the boys have been preparing.

“We’ve been watching a few videos on them and strategizing the way we play so we can beat them,” Mwete said.

Junior Joey Moeller said he felt as though both teams struggle to “stay composed” throughout full games. Moeller said Baldwin tends to “disconnect through the whole team,” while Norwin struggles to keep its midfield defense connected.

“I think the team needs to keep cool and play the way we did in the second half of the season and we’ll be fine,” Moeller said.
