The Baldwin girls volleyball team continued its impressive season with a dominant section win over Mt. Lebanon Tuesday night.

The Highlanders made quick work of their opponents, beating them in three straight sets. Senior Riley Lenard attributed the win to a combined team effort.

“A lot of the underclassmen really stepped it up,” Lenard said.

Juniors Louisa Tiriobo and Grace Reed got a lot of playing time and played very well, Lenard said.

The speed of their victory was a big positive coming out of the game.

“It was great not having to take it to another set,” Lenard said. “We knew we could dominate.”

The Highlanders need to carry this mentality forward and have confidence that they can beat any opponent, Lenard said.

This win brought the team’s record to 11-2 in the section and 11-3 overall, and they are currently tied with Canon-Mac for first place in their section.

The team will have its final game of the season Thursday night against section opponent Bethel Park.
