The Baldwin girls soccer team goes into tonight’s big section game against Canon-Mac having defeated Brashear on Monday, 10-1.

One of the star players for Baldwin against Brashear was junior Robin Sopata, who scored a hat trick. Sopata scored one goal in the first half and two in the second.

“It felt good to put in the goals for the team,” Sopata said.

Sopata is the leading scorer for the Highlanders.

Another standout player on Monday was senior Elizabeth Knight, who had her first goal of the season. For previous games, Knight was the team’s goalie, but she was placed on the field for this game.

“We did well working the ball up the field,” Sopata said.

The soccer team’s overall record is 3-6 in its section.

“Although the section score isn’t going in our favor, we can make it to the playoffs if we can pull off a win against Canon-Mac,” Sopata said.
