The varsity girls soccer team earned a huge win on Monday, defeating Mt Lebanon, 1-0, in double overtime

Junior Addie Carr called the victory the biggest win for the Highlanders since her freshman year.

“I believe this huge win will give us confidence for future games,” Carr said.

Junior Elena Zandier said the Highlanders were well prepared.

“We went into the game knowing we had a decent chance at winning this,” Zandier said. “We were all really pumped up and ready to play.”

Standout players included Makenzie Auel, Adriana Marina, Robin Sopata, and Riley Nolan.

Zandier scored the only goal of the game.

“Everything we’ve been working on all summer long is paying off,” Zandier said. “We are going to make an effort to keep this momentum moving.”

The team’s next game is Wednesday against Peters.
